  1. Project Life Cycle

    • Initiation
      • Input
        • User Requirements
          • The user requirements define what the client wants the product to achieve.
          • The requirements may be generic
          • Some requirements may be specific
            • The reports that are generated by the product must fit onto the company headed paper.  ● The length of the video to be embedded in the product must last for 3 minutes and include the company contact details at the end. ● All queries in the product must require user input.
          • It is important to remember that a client may not have the specialist skills needed to clearly define the requirements for a product
      • Output
        • Legislation implications
          • The legislation implications will need to be considered at the start of the project. Which Acts, legislation and regulations need to be considered will depend on the type of product that is to be created.
            • For example:  ● If a website is to be created, then the project manager may need to consider the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, if any images or photographs created by other people are to be used.  ● If a database is to be created which holds people’s personal contact details, then the Data Protection Act (DPA) will need to be considered by the project manager.
        • Feasibility report
          • The feasibility report includes the answers to all the questions that are asked during the initiation phase. The report can also include different solutions for the client.
        • Phase review
          • The phase review for the initiation phase will consider the feasibility report. A decision will be taken by the project manager and the client about whether the project is to carry on. The phase review for the initiation phase may find some omissions in the information collected and so the initiation phase will be repeated.
    • Planning
      • What recourse's you need. Risk assessment and criteria
    • Execution
      • Where you accurately do what you have planned and do regular tests to see if it works.

      • What?
    • M=Measurable
    • A=Achivable
    • R=Realistic
