        Annotations:

        • The vicious way that Macbeth dealt with the traitor in the battle. LOYAL,BRAVE,A STRONG SOLDIER , with his friend Banquo at his side. He is rewarded by being given the title Thane of Cawdor.

          • why are the witches bought onto the set so early? quieten audience, to grab attention with fear, to create mystery, dramatic irony ( predicting and for telling the audience what will happen)
          • sound effects, storms, banging, using words to describe as there were no modern special effects.

            • Royal patron to Shakespeare. Afraid of witchcraft, put them to death. Black death, no minstrals,  Shakespeare would have had a good relationship with the king. 
            • Why did he need the patronage so much? Where did he go to get his historical information? First impressions count!
