Ram stands for Random Access Memory
Ram is a a fast tempory computer memory which is accessed randomley.
The operating system, applications and the Graphical User Interface (GUI) are stored in the Ram.
You can change what is stored in the Ram as there are applications which need to change.
Rom stands for read-only memory
Rom is a computer memory which cannot be changed by the user. It retians the memory after the computer is turned off.
The Rom stores all of the instructions for the computer to start up when it is turned on again.
You cannot change what is stored in the Rom because the instructions need to stay the same.
Volatile: Memory that losesd its content when the power is turned off
Non-Volatile: Memory that retains its content when the power is turned off
Rom is non-volatile
Ram is volatile
