Slope Formula
- m=y2-y1/x2-x1
- Used to find the slope between two ordered pairs. (x1,y1) and (x2,y2).
- A Zero "underneath" means- undefined.
- A Zero in the top means- 0
Standard Form
- Ax+By=C
- Also used to identify the equation of a line.
- Be able to convert to y=mx+b in order to best match the equation to the graph.
Slope-Intercept form
- y=mx+b
- Used to identify the equation of a line.
- m=slope b=y-intercept
Point-Slope Formula
- Used to find the equation of a line given the slope (m) and the point (x1,y1) on the line.
- **If given two points , Find the slope, then use the point-slope formula with either points to write the equation.
Direct Variation
- y=kx
- Check y/x for all ordered pairs.
Inverse Variation
- y=k/x
- Check yx for all ordered pairs.
Linear Regression
- Done on the calculator
- A method for finding the precise line of best fit givin a set of Data values.
Laws of Exponents
- See Laws of exponents notes.
Properties
- See properties notes.
