PARTIAL DERIVATIVES
DEFINITION
- It is the derivative with respect to each one of those variables keeping the others as constants.
- The partial derivatives are useful in vector calculus, differential geometry, analytical functions, physics, mathematics, etc.
CHAIN RULE
- The rule of the chain is no more than that resulting from the derivation of the composition of 2 functions.
- This is also known as the composition of functions and is seen more thoroughly in the algebraic calculation.
GRADIENT
- Variation of a magnitude as a function of distance, from the line where this variation is maximum.
- In the magnitudes whose value is different in the various points of a region of space.
VECTOR UNIT
- It is the one that has module 1. To find a unit vector from any vector, we must divide the latter by its module.
DIRECTIONAL DERIVATIVE
- In mathematical analysis, the directional derivative (or derivative according to an address) of a multivariable function.
- In the direction of a given vector, represents the rate of change of the function in the direction of said vector.
