His pride gets in the way of things and causes Elizabeth’s prejudice against him.  Looks down on Elizabeth at first but then falls in love with her.  conflict with Mr. Wickham.  Broke up Bingley and Jane.  Wants Elizabeth to meet his sister, Georgiana.

                        • A militia officer.  Handsome.  Conflict with Mr. Darcy whom he had known since infancy.  Lydia and Catherine and Elizabeth like him.

                        Annotations:

                        • rich noblewoman.  Snobby and bossy.  Mr. Darcy’s aunt.  Mr. Collin’s patroness.  Has a weak daughter.  Determined to be married to Darcy.  Determines that the Bennet girls are not respectable.

                          • Lady de Bourge’s daughter.  Appears sickly and cross to Elizabeth. Quick to judge people.
