MOBILE APPS- Walter Rau

1. REFERENCE APPS

   • Next Generation Science Standards
     • All of the NGSS standards in one convienient location. (mostly for teachers/parents) 
   • EQUATE FORMULA SOLVER
     • Solves math, chemistry, and physics equations. Great for students, teachers, and parents (for those difficult homework assignments!)
   • Sail Through Math
     • Great math learning game for students.
   • HOWTOSMILE
     • Over 3,000 activities in STEM field.

2. SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY APPS

   • YouTube
     • Can create a class account and share media for learning.
   • FACEBOOK
     • Most widely used connectivity app in the world. Less secure than some other sites.
   • TWITTER
     • This app allows students/teachers/administrators to connect with people. PLNs
   • SKYPE
     • This app allows people to connect in real time. Multiple uses for this in the classroom. Collaboration.

3. MANAGEMENT APPS:

   • Teacher Assistant Pro
     • Allows the teacher to track multiple types of information in regard to the class. (ex. Discipline, Classroom Management)
   • Simple Note
     • Great note taking and organization app for students (text only).
   • Ever Note
     • This note-taking app for students allows them to take notes and implement multimodal media sources into them (for example the class YouTube page)
   • Remind101
     • Allows teachers/coaches to contact students and parents without ever having to private message or know their phone numbers!

4. TUTORIAL APPS

   • Pixntell
     • This app allows the teacher to make tutorial lessons with voiceover and pictures to share virtually anywhere
   • Doodlecast Pro
     • Probably the easiest app to draw and voice over at the same time. Create lessons to share or use again. Imports to multiple apps (such as keynote)
   • Explain Everything
     • Design, Screencast, interactive whiteboard tool that allows the user to import and export from virtually anywhere
   • SHOWME
     • This app allows the teacher to create lessons for students to use later if they need extra help.

5. PRESENTATION APPS: MULTIMODAL

   • KEYNOTE
     • This is Apples Version of PowerPoint.
   • BOOK CREATOR
     • This app allows the student to create "books" to present material. Great tool for teachers to use as well.
   • iMOVIE
     • This app allows students to make "movies" to present their materials. Can be still or video footage. Great tool for teachers as well
   • GARAGEBAND
     • This app allows the user to create music (or voice over for an iMovie or lesson).
