Cloud computing
Concerns
- Reliability of the network - you need internet access to get your work.
- Security of data - files are stored on the host's servers. You don't control the security of your data, the host does. You should know their security policies.
- Software - the host might not have the most up to date software for you to use.
- Potentially lower performance - as the host is elsewhere
Benefits
- Cost and convenience - you only pay for the storage you use. Because you store your work, music, photos, etc.. on the cloud you don't have to worry about upgrading your computers to have more storage or processing powder.
- Availability - your work is available to you anywhere in the world 24/7 as long as you have an internet connection.
