1. Mandatory

     • You must design before you can construct

2. Discretionary

   • preferred preferential soft logic
   • This is the way an organization has chosen to have work performed in the organization. There are others ways it could be done, but this is the preferred approach.
     • necesary when you need analyzing the schedule (fast track)

3. Internal

   • This dependency is based on the needs of the project and may be something the project team can control.
     • team control

4. External

   • This depency is based on the needs or desires of a party outside the project
     • (government or suppliers)
