My Core Values

Annotations:

  • Thank you for reading about just (5) core values I strive to practice daily. I have tried leading with different sets of values for my personal life, professional life, and spiritual life, but it did not work. I learned on my quest of personal development that who I am is who I am, a work in progress.  My authentic-self affects all aspects of my life. I do not know what it is to live without some moral compass guiding my actions and thoughts. I trust the Lord and exercise what i like to call "crazy faith". Pray for me as I continue to grow...

    1. Do unto others as you would have them do onto you-Matthew 7:12

      Annotations:

      • I believe that whatever I soweth I will reap (The Holy Bible-Gal 6:7). Therefore, I prefer to do more good towards people than bad-because the same measure will be returned to me someway, somehow. My grandmother used to say, "Be nice to people 'cause God don't like ugly and He ain't to fond of pretty."  Although it is hard sometimes its easier being nice-No stress!
      1. Service

        Annotations:

        • I learned from real-life examples in my family: mother, grandmother, and others to live a life that includes caring about others beyond myself. God gives each of us the opportunity to be a blessing to others.  As I have gotten older, I seek opportunities to be a blessing daily. As a leader, it is my obligation to make positive change in this world. I was a child taught this principle of giving and service. More importantly, when I do something for others do it unto the Lord because He has been so good to me (Matthew 25:35-36).
        1. Exercise good character & integrity

          Annotations:

          • I will be the first to raise my hands and two legs to proclaim from a mountaintop that I am NOT perfect. It is the Holy Spirit in me that convicts me when I am wrong; to make my offenses right. However, if I listen to the wisdom and guidance through the Word of God I keep myself from unnecessary trouble by living a life of integrity and good moral character. In other words, just do the right thing. I strive to learn from my errors so I am not practicing sin. No stress!
          1. Love

            Annotations:

            • The Holy Bible tells me that without charity I am nothing (1 Cor. 13:2). I also cannot attempt to love God whom I haven't seen and hate my brother that I see daily (1 John 4:20). That brother to me is anyone that comes into my spear. I have found the more love and appreciation I give freely the more I recieve-who doesn't want to be love?-No stress!
            1. Christ-Centered

              Annotations:

              • I committed to living a life that is Christ-centered because I have tried it other ways and they were an epic fail. I have enough sense to know I can do nothing worthwhile without Christ in my life as my personal Savior, Lord, and Friend. Without Him I am nothing-No stress!
