1. MAKE

   • USE
     • Make expresses the idea that the main subject ( in Prayer ) causes a third person to do something
   • FORM
     • MAKE + PERSON + VERB (base form)
   • EXAMPLES
     • 1.-Robert made the team stay after the meeting 2.-She made her children do their homework. 3.-Jimmy made the guitar sound great 4.- My teacher made me apologize for what I had said.

2. HAVE

   • EXAMLES
     • 1.-Please have your secretary fax me the information. 2.-I’ll have my assistant call you to reschedule the appointment. 3.-I’m going to have my hair cut tomorrow. 4.-I had the mechanic check the brakes.
   • USE
     • This construction means "to give someone the responsibility to do something."
   • FORM
     • HAVE + PERSON + VERB (base form) HAVE + THING + PAST PARTICIPLE OF VERB

3. GET

   • USE
     • This construction usually means "to convince to do something" or "to trick someone into doing something."
   • FORM
     • GET + PERSON + TO + VERB
   • EXAMPLES
     • 1.-The government TV commercials are trying to get people to stop smoking. 2.-Luis got Helen to read more 3.-Susie got her son to take the medicine even though it tasted terrible. 4.-y husband hates housework; I can never get him to wash the dishes!
