The Seven-Step Model-Building Process

1. When the operatiosn research is used to solve problems the next model should be used

   • Step 1: Define the problem including objetives and the parts that have to be studied
     • Step 2: Collect data and estimate the value that affect the process
       • Step 3: develops a mathematical model of the problem with a technique
         • Step 4: Try to determine if the mathematical model fits in the reality
           • Step 5: Given various models have to choose whose is the best for the problem
             • Step 6: Presents the model and recommendations to the people that are intereted in and take a decision
               • If the model doesn´t fit with the reality should return to step 1, 2 or 3
               • Step 7: Implement the model and the recommendations, the model has to be constantly monitored to ensure that meets its objetives
