Sun Yatsen organised armed resistance but failed. Yuan dismissed commanders or bribed them into staying loyal to him.
Result = Republic parties too ill-organised to mount effective opposition. Sun urged to reorganise GMD.
Yuan outlawed all parties including GMD.
Yuan abolished all regional assemblies which led to further opposition in provinces.
