Electric Field
Region of space in which electric charges at rest experience an electrostatic force
Electric Field Line
The line along which a positive charge would move if placed in the electric field
Electric field lines can be demonstrated by sprinkling semolina on a container of cooking oil and running an electric current through two metal plates in the container
The semolina will form parallel lines between the plates showing the electric field pattern
Electric Field Strength
Force per unit charge at a point in an electric field
