- We like to be in control of our lives and being able to do things on our own time. Having automated systems like an ATM or a self-service check out line motivates us to engage more by giving us the feeling of control.
- In the design and business world more companies are making it easier for people to do things on their own. Whether building a website or a creating a logo, it's becoming easier and cheaper for anyone to do, but that doesn't always mean it's going to be a good design.
