Used for: Activities at the moment of speaking / future activities.

Form: Pronoun + To be + Verb + ING

Affirmative

I am speaking now.

You are speaking.

He / She is speaking.

We are speaking.

They are speaking.

Negative

I'm not speaking.

You aren't speaking. / You're not speaking.

He isn't speaking. / He's not speaking.

She isn't speaking. / She's not speaking.

We aren't speaking. / We're not speaking.

They aren't speaking. / They're not speaking.

Questions

Am I speaking?

Are you speaking?

Is he speaking?

Is she speaking?

Are we speaking?

Em resumo,

1 - O presente contínuo ou progressivo serve para ações que estão acontecendo no momento em que eu estou falando.

Ex.:

Ela está assistindo TV.

She is watching TV.

2 - Também usamos essa construção para ações no futuro. Nesse caso o que faz a diferença são as expressões de tempo.

Ex.:

Ela vai assistir TV hoje à noite.

She is watching TV tonight.

(tonight - indica futuro)

Lembre-se que o verb to be (am, is, are) é um grande amigo do "ING" e que eles vão sempre andar juntos nesse tempo verbal.

Não se usa Do, Does, nem qualquer outro auxiliar nesse tempo verbal.
