Atomic Structure.
elements are the simplest substances.
100 different elements.
each element is made up of very tin y particles called atoms.
each element is made up of a particular atom, but it will be different to the type of atom any other element contains.
an atom is very small ( 0.00000001 cm wide).
the particles atoms are made up of are -protons -neutrons -electrons
Structure of the atom.
All (protons, neutrons and electrons) are not evenly spread out in an atom.
the protons and neutrons exist in a dense space at the centre of the atom - (nucleus)
the electrons are spread out around the atom, they orbit the nucleus in layers - (shells)
Mass and Electron charge.
