Facts:

Data filter: limit or qualify data pulled from the source (part of WHERE clause), Two Types: Simple and Advanced. Simple - when all criteria can be joined with AND (meets all criteria) and is NOT a flat file. ADVANCED: Nesting conditions or using OR or using a Flat File

Incremental Process: you run a task once/hour and want to create new records, and update existing records, use LastModifiedDate >= $LastRunTIme

Field Expressions: transform source data before loaded into target. For example, mapping multiple source fields to single target field. Convert data values or performing data clean-up (trimming trailing blank spaces, etc).

Language - based on standard SQL but has some differences. Can write simple or complex expressions. Includes fields, literals, functions, operators, constants

Best Practice: Use field-level expression to convert the data

Create a field expression: Open existing task > Field Mapping Step on target step, Actions icon. Be sure to validate expression.
