What is PBL?

• -It is an instructional method based on self directed-learning around a problem in small groups with a staff tutor: the problem could be:
• -Cellular
• -Clinical
• -Social

Importance:

• 1-Acquistion of retrievable and usable knowledge
• 2-Self directed learning
• 3-Clinical reasoning
• 4-Application of learning principles

Application:

• -Claryifing whatever is not clear in the problem
• -Defining the problem
• -Analyzing the problem, clues, keywords
• -Listing possible explanations
• -Formulating learning objectives
• -Looking for additional information between group session
• -Reporting back the next session
