About database concepts and dbms fundamentals notes
GoConqr OriginalDatabase concepts and DBMS fundamentals notes
These notes offer different routes into the unit. Data Terminology introduces terms for databases, tables, fields and records. Normalisation covers normal forms, while SQL and Queries looks at using queries to extract information. Databases Revision includes notes on keys and relations.
How to revise with notes
Start with Data Terminology if you want a vocabulary review, then read Normalisation to focus on database structure. After each section, close the note and write down the terms or steps you remember. Reopen it to check what you missed, then compare your summary with another note on the same topic.
When you want to test recall rather than read, switch to a quiz on the unit page. A mind map can help you revisit how ideas connect, while flashcards offer another way to review terms. Choose a note and make a short summary in your own words.
Frequently asked questions
Which note is a useful place to start?
Start with Data Terminology if you want to review the words used for databases, tables, fields and records. Then try Normalisation for notes on normal forms, or SQL and Queries for an introduction to extracting information. The list lets you choose the topic you want to revisit.
Are the notes free to use?
Yes. Every note listed here is free to open and study, without an account. The resources were made by GoConqr users. If you want to create your own notes or other study resources, a free account lets you do that and also saves quiz scores.
Do these notes cover keys and normalisation?
Yes. Normalisation includes notes on first and second normal form, including primary keys and partial dependencies. Databases Revision discusses superkeys and alternate keys. You can read the notes alongside each other when you want to review the terminology and the structure of database tables.
