- Distance time graphs show how much distance an object travels over a period of time.
- speed is measured by using: speed = distance/time
- speed is a scalar quantity, it is how fast an object covers a certain distance. Velocity is a vector quantity, it is speed but a direction.
- Acceleration is measured by using:
- change in velocity (m/s)/time taken(s).
- a negative acceleration means the object is slowing down.
- velocity time graphs shows how an objects velocity changes over time. The gradient gives the objects acceleration.
- a flat line means a constant speed.
- the area under a velocity time graph shows the distance travelled.
