- 1Simplify the way to find the other values from a principle value for sine:Sin: 180-θ +/- 360
- 2Simplify the way to find the other values from a principle value for cos:Cos: -θ +/- 360
- 3Simplify the way to find the other values from a principle value for tan:Tan: θ+180 +/- 360
- 4How would we solve something like sinx = sin20 ?1. We already have our principle value which is 20
2. So 180-20 = 160
-360 from both = -340 and -200
Answers: 20, 160, -300, -200 - 5Name 2 trigonometric identities:tanθ ≡ sinθ/cosθ
sin^2θ + cos^2θ ≡ 1 - 6If we are given a show that question, what could we do to possibly make it easier to do?Start from the answer
- 7How can we rewrite an integer as a trigonometric function? We can multiply any integer by 1 to give the same integer, so if the integer was 6, then 6x1=6, so 6(sin^2θ+cos^2θ) is the same as the number 6
- 8What is sin^2θ identically equal to?1-cos^2θ
- 9How would we solve something such as sin2x=0.6 ? (0≤x≤360)1. Do sin-1(0.6) and find all other values (so 180-ans, then +/- 360 a few times)
2. Your answers = 2x, so divide all by 2 to get X on its own
3. Select values in the range and these are your answers
