Pregunta Respuesta
Describe the hierarchical control that regulates hormone secretion in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. The ventral hypothalamus sends hormone releasing or inhibiting signals to the anterior pituitary system to generate hormones.
Describe the negative feedback loops acting on the hypothalamus and pituitary. Anti-dieurtic hormones, acted on the target system, the osmolarity receptors detect whether to turn on and secrete it or not depending on how much plasma volume is there. Some other factors relay the hormones back to the hypothalamus and the pituitary
What 2 hormones are secreted at the posterior pituitary? What actions do they have? Oxyticin and ADH. Oxytocin enables contraction and expulsion of milk from mammary glands and in males, social interaction. ADH controls intercellular fluid levels.
Which hormones are secreted from the anterior pituitary? Growth hormone, ACTH, Thyroid stimulating, LH and FSH, prolactin
What are the actions of each of the hypothalamic-pituitary hormones? Refer to the mindmap.....
