ROMEO AND JULIET WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THE DEATH OF ROMEO AND JULIET?
THE NURSE The nurse is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death because help hide their relationship. She knew that it was wrong to disobey the parents. It was putting the family's honour at risk, which at the time honour and pride was very important. The Nurse could have tried to do something different like take Juliet's mind of him. She encouraged them to get married but then when Juliet's father found out that she did not want to get married to Paris the nurse changed her mind, after romeo and Juliet had gotten married. The Nurse comes from a lower class, so honour and pride did not seem important to her therefore bringing up Juliet to think honour and pride was not important. If Juliet knew how important her family's reputation was, she would've stayed away from Romeo. The Nurse had taught her that it was not important.
CAPULET AND MONTAGUE If the Montagues and Capulet had gotten over this petty little feud ,which had been going on for too long, there would be no need for Romeo and Juliet to hide their relationship. In Shakespeare's time it was frowned upon if someone would disobey their parents. Having this lethal relationship meant that it had to be kept a secret. The Montagues should have interacted with Romeo more, they could have helped him through with this relationship and love life problems. Although the Capulets were there most of the time during the play, they didn't have time to listen to what their daughter was saying, they were too wrapped up in their own business. it seemed very selfish. Lady Capulet struggled to have a one-to-one conversation with Juliet. She needed the Nurse there. "This is the matter. Nurse, give a while, we must talk in secret. Nurse, come back again..." She told the Nurse to leave but then suddenly called the Nurse back into the room.
