Siddhartha Gautama A sage on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.
Nirvana The ideal state where the spirit is liberated from the cycles of death and life.
Noble Truths They are the truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering.
Eightfold path Used to develop insight into the true nature of phenomena (or reality) and to eradicate greed, hatred, and delusion.
