  1. 1Parity CheckingEach time a byte is transferred, the parity bit is checked. One-bit parity systems will detect if one of the eight bits in the byte has been erroneously switched from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1.
  2. 2ASCII CodeASCII is the most common format for text files in computers and on the Internet. In an ASCII file, each alphabetic, numeric, or special character is represented with a 7-bit binary number.
  3. 3UnicodeAn international encoding standard for use with different languages, by which each letter, digit, or symbol is assigned a unique numeric value that applies across different platforms and programs.
  4. 4PixelA minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed.
  5. 5ResolutionResolution is the number of pixels (individual points of color) contained on a display monitor
  6. 6Colour DepthColor depth, also known as bit depth, is either the number of bits used to indicate the color of a single pixel
  7. 7MetadataA set of data that describes and gives information about other data.
  8. 8Vector GraphicsVector graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygons—all of which are based on mathematical expressions—to represent images in computer graphics.
  9. 9Bitmap GraphicsA bitmap graphic is composed of many tiny parts, called pixels, which are often many different colours. It is possible to edit each individual pixel.
  10. 10Raster GraphicsRaster graphics are digital images created or captured (for example, by scanning in a photo) as a set of samples of a given space. A raster is a grid of x and y coordinates on a display space.
