Plate Boundary Formations
Contenido del diagrama
Constructive Plate Boundaries
Convection currents within the earth's mantle cause the plates to move.
As the plates are forced apart there is a gap left between the two plates.
Magma rises and fills the gap and gradually cools and solidifies.
PLATE BOUNDARIES
Conservative Plate Boundry
Convection currents within the earth's mantle cause the plates to move.
Plates move alongside each other, either in opposite directions or in the same direction but at different speeds.
As they move they drag on each other and pressure builds up.
When the pressure is released the land jolts and causes earthquakes.
Collision Plate Boundary
Convection currents move plates together.
Two continental plates collide.
