1. encryption

   • Encryption is a password or a pin you need to unlock a device
   • You can encrypt a message using a Cipher
   • you can decrypt a message by using a key
   • We use encryption when we try and hide personal information

2. anti-virus

   • Anti-Virus is needed for scanning the computer periodically
   • Protects against malicous software
   • Quarentines any programs or files which are harmful
   • The conseguences for not having this will be that your computer will be slow and will have loads of virus's on the computer

3. password

   • Passwords should be long with lots of numbers, capital letters and grammar so its harder for other people to guess it
   • Only you should know your password
   • Have a different password for every account

4. firewall

   • Firewall is needed for
   • Prevents harmful data reaching your computer
   • Used when program is trying to connect to another network
   • Controls which programs can send and receive data packets
   • Used to help protect a computer network from intruders.
