Atoms
Proton
- Positive charge
- a positively charged particle in the nucleus of the atom, represented by a capital P.
Electron
- Negative charge
- Found in the shells surounding the nucleus.
- a negatively charged particle orbiting around the nucleus of an atom, represented by an "e" or an "e-."
Neutron
- Has no charge, it's neutral
- a particle in an atomic nucleus with no electrical charge, represented by a captital N.
Nucleus
- The nucleus is the middle of the atom
- The core of an atom around which electrons rotate.
Atoms are in everything, they're like building blocks. They are the smallest bits of ordinary matter. They are made from particles called; Protons, Neutrons and electrons
Shells
- he approximately circular level in which electrons travel around the nucleus. Each shell consists of subshells, or orbitals.
