1. DUAL TASK MODEL- Made up of different components which can all be used at the same time

2. Baddeley and Hitch- 2 tasks require different components if a task needed the same one performance would suffer

3. Central Executive - Process that moniters data to make decisions and allocates slave systems and has a limited storage capacity

   • Phonological Loop - audiotory information preserves the order- encodes through sound
     • Phonological store- stores the words you hear and can only store for seconds before decaying
       • Articulatory control process- needs rehearsal and only has 2 seconds worth of what we can say
   • Episodic Buffer- Temp store it stores visual and spatial specific types of memory keeping the order limited capacity about 4 chunks- cognitive process
   • Visual spatial sketchpad-one system and it encodes visually and spatially and it is how we navigate records visual data
