  1. What does RAM stand for?
    1. RAM stands for Random, access, memory
    2. The purpose of RAM is temporary memory for your computer to store things you are working on for quick access later.
      1. What is the purpose of RAM?
      2. What does volatile and non-volatile mean?
        1. Volatile memory means your computer can retain stored information only when power is on.
          1. Non-Volatile means that computer storage is lost when the computer is turned off.
            1. non-volatile means computer storage that is not lost when power is removed
            2. Is RAM volatile or non-volatile?
              1. RAM IS volatile because all the storage is erased once the computer is turned off
              2. What is stored in the RAM?
                1. The data a program is using is stored in the RAM but eventually overwritten by another program, all these are erased once the computer is powered off.
                2. Can you change what is stored in the RAM?
                  1. You can change the data and programs stored in the RAM, because the RAM stores these things.

                    1. Read , Only, Memory
                    2. What is the purpose of ROM?
                      1. ROM is memory that cant be changed by a program or user.ROM retains its memory even when the computers turned off.
                      2. Is ROM volatile or non-volatile storage?
                        1. Rom is non-volatile because the data is not saved in this part of the computer.
                        2. What IS stored in the ROM?
                          1. Information that cant be changed like settings etc...
