1. Infection

   • Disease causing pathogens
     • Virus
       • Viruses directly attacking cells taking control and hijacking the cell to make more of itself
     • Bacteria
       • E. coli
       • Bacteria release toxins to make us feel unwell
     • Fungi

2. Response

   • The first Internal defence is often stomach acid
   • White blood cells create antibodies to latch onto pahogens

3. Vaccines

   • How do they work
     • The body responds by producing antibodies when the pathogen enters us via the vaccine
       • These antibodies then learn how to deal with the disease meaning we become somewhat immune
