Algorithms

A set of instructions to complete a task in a finite amount of time
- Using pseudocode so that people can understand it, not written in code.
How are algorithms represented
- they can be represented with flowcharts
  - Flowcharts show the steps of an algorithm in a set of shapes
    - What are the symbols of Flowcharts/
      - Start and end
        Rounded rectangles
      - decisions
        Diamonds
      - calculations
        Squares
      - input/output
        Rhombus
- They can also be represented with Pseudocode
  - Pseudocode is a recognisable set of instructions resembling code but is universal between languages
    - Selection/conditional statements
      - IF ...
