The process by which an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy by emitting ionizing particles or radiation.
- Radioactivity is:
Alpha Particles:
- -Alpha particles are groups of two protons and two neutrons stuck together, i.e. they are the same as the nucleus of the helium atom.
- They carry a double positive charge and may be presented as 4/2 He
