Python
Why do we use Python
- You can use Python for developing desktop GUI applications, websites and web applications
- Python provides an easy syntax which makes programming simple and is done in very compact manner.
- Some of main benefits of Python are : Python provide a large standard library that manages memory automatically.
What is an algorithm?
- a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer
- An algorithms is a step by step procedure to solve logical and mathematical problems
- A recipe is a good example of an algorithm because it tells you what you need to do step by step
How do you use Python?
- I would save as to allow you to edit and create your own name
- Write Py to tell the computer that we are using Python
- use code words at the beginning e.g print
What is Python?
- Python is an interpreted, high-level, general-purpose programming language
- It is also a platform in which people of any age can learn to code
- Python helps lots of people learn code
Algorithms
- An algorithm is a step by step method of solving a problem. It is commonly used for data processing, calculation and other related computer and mathematical operations. An algorithm is also used to manipulate data in various ways, such as inserting a new data item, searching for a particular item or sorting an item
- An algorithm is a list in an order that a computer will follow in that order
- a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.
What is better Python or Java?
- Python code is much shorter, even though some Java “class shell” is not listed.
- While Python can be more user-friendly than Java, as it has a more intuitive coding style, both languages do have their unique advantages for developers and end users.
- Python is more productive language than Java. Python is an interpreted language with elegant syntax and makes it a very good option for scripting and rapid application development in many areas
Syntax Errors
- When you fix these mistakes it is called De-Bugging
- Then it comes up (when you try to run it ) as syntax error
- A syntax error is when you make a mistake in spelling or miss something crucial in the code
Who created Python?
- Why is it called Python? When he began implementing Python, Guido van Rossum was also reading the published scripts from “Monty Python's Flying Circus”, a BBC comedy series from the 1970s. Van Rossum thought he needed a name that was short, unique, and slightly mysterious, so he decided to call the language Python.
- Python was conceived in the late 1980s by Guido van Rossum at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands as a successor to the ABC language (itself inspired by SETL), capable of exception handling and interfacing with the Amoeba operating system. Its implementation began in December 1989.
- Python - Object Oriented. Python has been an object-oriented language since it existed. Because of this, creating and using classes and objects are downright easy. This chapter helps you become an expert in using Python's object-oriented programming support.
