Baddely and Hitch (1974)
- 3 slave systems, controlled by the Central Executive
- Episodic Buffer
- Receives input from many sources temporarily stores this information, to construct a mental episode of the experience
- Phonological Loop
- Encodes speech in working memory.
- Visuo-Spatial Sketchpad
- Encodes visual information in terms of separate objects as well as the arrangement of these objects in one's visual feed
- Monitors and coordinates all other mental functions in working memory
