      2. Food Spoilage Bacteria
        1. Makes food rot or go bad
        2. Helpful Bacteria
          1. Helps food digest, makes food like yoghurt and cheese
        3. Sources of Bacteria
          1. People
            1. Bacteria can be found on skin, ears, nose an hair
            2. Pets
              1. Insects - Flies and cockroaches. Animals - Mice, Dogs, Cats , Hamsters
            3. Bacteria multiplies within 10-20 minutes. A virus is a micro-organism smaller than bacteria
              1. Find viruses in:
                1. Water
                  1. Foods from water e.g. shellfish
                    1. Raw food - Salad leaves & raw veg
                    2. Naturally poisonous food:
                      1. Castor Beans
                        1. Rhubarb leaves
                          1. Fungi - mushrooms & toadstools
                            1. Red kidney beans - until boiled
                            2. Food work place should have different coloured knives, cloths and chopping boards to prevent cross contamination
