1. Trigonometry

   • SOHCAHTOA
     • Sin=opposite/hypotenuse
     • Cos=adjacent/hypotenuse
     • Tan=opposite/adjacent
     • 1. Label the triangle with hypotenuse, opposite and adjacent. 2. Dependingon which 2 sides you are looking at, decide which part of Sohcahtoa to use. 3. Write out your chosen division with the numbers from the question. 4. Rearrange to get the unknown(x) on its own and solve using calculator.

2. Proportion

   • Direct proportion
     • If 2 things are linked together, we can say that they are proportional.
     • k is the constant of proportionality
     • Example
       • y=20 x=4 k=5
         • 20=kx4 k=5
           • y=5x
     • y=kx
   • Inverse proportion
     • Inverse proportion is when one variable gets bigger and the other gets smaller.
     • p is inversally proportionate to q
