Atomic Structure

1. An element is a substance that is made up of all identical atoms.

2. An atom comprises of a central nucleus containing protons and neutrons, surrounded by the electron orbitals. The further away the orbital is from the nucleus the higher its energy level is.

3. An element with the same number of protons(atomic no.) but different no of neutrons(mass no.). They have the same chemical properties but different physical properties e.g. density.
