1. 45 students were shown 7 clips of traffic accidents. the bit shown was between 5-30seconds long. After each clip participents were ask to make an acoount and then answer some specific questions.The critical question.

   • Split into 5 groups of 9. Each group was asked a different critical ques. Group 1 - Smashed Group 2 - Collided Group 3 - bumped Group 4 - Hit Group 5- Contacted
     • Average ratings- Smashed= 40.8mph Collided= 39.3 Bumped= 38.1 Hit- 34 Contacted- 31.8

2. AIM= to see the effect of leading questions on memory of an event

   • They wanted to find out if changing the verb used in the questiom would the speed estimated given

3. IV= verb used in leading question DV= estimate of speed given by participent
