Computing
CPU
- cores
- more cores in your CPU, this makes it so you fetch-execute cycle faster as it can process more data in the CPU at one time.
- clock speed
- Over clocking is basically making the CPU working over time making your computer faster but it can make you CPU life fall as it over heats
- to control the whole of the computer system like a brain
- cores
Memory
- RAM and ROM
- RAM
- the purpose of RAM is to be a temporary storage for data.
- ROM
- ROM is a big thing in computers as they start up and down in the computer but the user can’t change ROM in computers.
- RAM
- Flash Memory
- it is a non- volatile storage which can be electrically erased.
- Cache Memory
- cache memory is next to the CPU and make it easy to get to the data as RAM memory is furthers away.
- Virtual Memory
- it is main storage supported by secondary storage.
- RAM and ROM
Input and output devices
- we see input and output devices every day and they are part of everyday life for example: computer, they have a keyboard and mouse as a input and the monitor is and output.
- they can be use people with specific need like death people: house phone has bigger buttons to dial a number and are louder so hard hearing people can hear the phone
secondary storage
- storage technology
- solid state storage means no moving parts and has electronic circuits
- magnetic storage uses different patterns of magnetisation
- optical storages are written and read with lasers common examples Blu-ray and CD, DVD
- it is non-volatile which it holds data until it is deleted or overwritten
- storage technology
