    1. The Duke of York + others of the nobility (both Yorkist + Lancastrian) should also take some of the blame
      1. The 'good governance' depended as much on the ruled as on the ruler
        1. The relationship between the monarch + the nobility was crucial for peace, prosperity + political stability were to be maintained
    2. The King could not rule the kingdom alone
      1. He needed the advice, co-operation, experience + local knowledge of the nobility to help him govern every corner of the realm
        1. If the relationship between the ruler + the ruled broke down, chaos would, even civil war, may ensue
