  1. Input

    • An input device is any piece of computer hardware used to provide data to a computer system. Examples include:keyboard mouse scanner digital camera webcam
  2. Output

    • An output device is any piece of computer hardware used to communicate the results of data that has been processed. Examples include:monitor printer speaker headphones
  3. Storage

    • A storage device is a piece of computer equipment which can be used to store data. Examples include:hard disk drive DVD drive USB stick
    • Magnetic storage.
      • Video: Magnetic Storage: Definition, Devices & Examples. Data storage is a critical component of any computer system. Magnetic storage is one of the most affordable ways to store large amounts of data and has been implemented using magnetic tape, floppy disks and hard disk drive
    • Optical definition.
      • Optical storage is the storage of data on an optically readable medium. Data is recorded by making marks in a pattern that can be read back with the aid of light, usually a beam of laser light precisely focused on a spinning optical disc.
    • Solid state storage
      • Is a type of computer storage media made from silicon microchips. SSS stores data electronically instead of magnetically, as spinning hard disk drives (HDDs) or magnetic oxide tape do.
  4. Motherboard

    • A motherboard usually contains significant sub-systems such as the central processor, the chipset's input/output and memory controllers, interface connectors, and other components integrated for general purpose use. This board is often referred to as the "mother" of all components attached to it
  5. Network

    • A network is defined as a group of two or more computer systems linked together. There are many types of computer networks.
  6. Harddrive

    • A disk drive used to read from and write to a hard disk.
  7. Server

    • A computer or computer program which manages access to a centralized resource or service in a network.
  8. Switch

    • A network switch (also called switching hub, bridging hub, officially MAC bridge) is a computer networking device that connects devices together on a computer network by using packet switching to receive, process, and forward data to the destination device.
  9. RAM

    • RAM (pronounced ramm) is an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers and other devices, such as printers.
