1. Fungi

   • Living cells with nuclei, sometimes forming long strands or hyphae
   • Grow longer and release poisons which attack your cells
   • Cause ringworm and athletes foot

   • Tiny, one millionth of a mm across
   • A strand of genetic information surrounded by protein coat. Non living
   • Invade your cells, making millions of copies of themselves, destroying cells in the process
   • Causes cold, flu, mumps, measles etc.
   • Used in genetic engineering. Some kill bacteria

3. Bacteria

   • Asexual Reproduction
     • Binary fission
       • Split in two
   • Lag, log, stationary and death pahse
   • Thousandth of mm across
   • Living cells without nuclei but contain loop of genetic information
   • Multiply quickly and release poisons
   • Cause tetanus, boils, cholera, pneumonia etc.
   • Make yoghurt, cheese and soap powder
