1. Popper - if it can be falified it may be able to be a science e.g Marx theory of a revoloution

2. Kuhn - said it's not a science because there are too many paradigms, but it could if sociologists shared the same ideology

3. Weber - not a science because sociology is subjective as it can be interpreted in different ways.

4. Durkheim - he said it is a science because it is value free, he did the study of 'Le Suicide' and used a comparative method, qauntative data.

5. positivists say sociology is a science, it is objective and uses quantative data.
