1. Insulin

   • Stimulated for secretion by raised blood glucose levels
   • Increases uptake of glucose into cells
   • Stores excess glucose as glycogen in the liver

2. Glucagon

   • Stimulated for secretion by lowered blood glucose levels
   • Releases stored glycogen from liver to be converted to glucose

3. Somatostatin

   • Mild inhibition of insulin and glucagon; prevents wild swings in blood glucose levels
