1. Optical Storage

   • Optical discs are not vulnerable to data loss due to power failure like volatile memory
   • The biggest disadvantage of optical storage is disk capacity.

2. Solid State

   • If you were measuring the cost per GB of space, the SSD is a lot more expensive than HDD
   • They're more durable. With traditional hard drives, the continuous motion generated by small moving parts creates heat, which is a leading factor in hard drive failure

3. Magnetic storage

   • One of the greatest things about magnetic disk storage is its ability to fit a tremendous amount of information into a small amount of space
   • if any area of the tape is damaged or broken, it can lead to the entire role being useless.
