1. A linear circuit, consisting of sources, linear components (resistors, capacitors, inductors), and linear distribution elements (transmission lines or cables), has the property of superposition linear. Furthermore, they are easier to analyze, using methods in the frequency domain, to determine its response in direct current, alternating current and transient. A resistive circuit is a circuit containing only resistors, voltage and current sources. The analysis of resistive circuits is less complicated than analyzing circuits containing capacitors and inductors. If the sources are direct current (direct current), is called a direct current (or direct) circuit.

2. They conduct or transform electrical current. It has the advantages of being able to produce mechanical energy from electrical energy, from modifying conditions existing power plants for a certain purpose, to analyze the behavior of electrical components, among many others.
