       • Baby receives antibodies from its mother through the placenta
     • Artificial
       • Injected antibodies from someone else

2. Autoimmune Disease

   • This is when an organism doesn't recognise the antigens present on the organisms own cells
     • Causes an Immune response
   • Lupus
     • Immune system cells attack connective tissue
     • Causes inflammation and damage to joints
   • Rheumatoid Arthritis
     • Attacking cells in joints
     • Pain and Inflammation

3. Vaccines

   • Vaccines contain antigens which cause the production of memory cells
   • Prevents a person from experiencing symptoms of a disease
