ORAL EXPRESSION TECHNIQUES

1. LECTURE

   • Technique in which a presentor or lecturer will teach people about a particular subject
     • PROS
       • Is usefull to communicate a subject to a large audience
     • CONS
       • Is a one way communication method; the audience does not get involve nor participates
         • Is a passive learning method
           • Low engagement in the subject
   • "The action of reading"

2. PANEL

   • "Discussion about a topic"
   • It involves a group of people in front of an audience gathered to discuss a topic
     • Its conducted by a moderator who guides the discussion and involves the audience by asking questions
       • PROS
         • Shares specific and diverse perspectives from a panelist to a subject
       • CONS
         • Lacks an active performance by the audience

3. ROUND TABLE

   • Is an academic discussion where participants agree on a specific topic to discuss and debate. Each person is given equal right to participate
     • IT MUST
       • Have a moderator who will conduct the debate
         • There must be a background information about the topic to be discussed
           • Questions must be planned in advance and all of the participants must equally contribute
   • "Debate about a specific topic"

4. FORUM

   • Is a gathering where everyone can participate and comment on a topic
     • IT MUST
       • Be conducted by a moderator
         • Generate a final conclusion

5. SYMPOSIUM

   • " A gathering of the educated"
   • Is the gathering of a group of experts in which they discuss a topic before an audience
